Media bias in Republican primaries SHOCKER

I find the republican primaries both hard to watch and impossible not to watch. You never know what is going to happen next. One minute a candidate is quoting Pokemon (Herman Cain) and the next moment one of them is making racist remarks (Gingrich). One thing holds constant and presidential and that seems to be Ron Paul, yet no one is paying attention. The GOP race in all odds will go to Romney but no one seems to even want to be on his ticket as VP, not Rubio, not Bush, not Condoleeza. No body. Ron Paul has quietly been racking up delegates and the media won't pay him a lick of attention. Maybe it's because he cares about the issues and not frivolous games and scandals that are below someone seeking the highest office of the land. Rachel Maddow pays Ron Paul some due credit in this clip. If I had as much money as Warren Buffet or Bill Gates, I would create a Super Pac (you can donate unlimited sums to them) and put $1 billion dollars into it so Ron Paul could have a fighting chance publicity wise against the GOP and Dems.

Props to Ron Paul

If you're familiar with SOPA and the NDAA and it doesn't leave a bad taste in your mouth or a wrenching feeling in your gut I think you may need to check them out.

Creative way to get the point across about driving drunk

I like that they used humor to try and get the point across instead of another failed scare tactic against drunk driving.

Why condoms should be free

Inorder to prevent this...

Got a little Captain in ya?

Captain Morgan has figured it out lately with their advertisements. Take a look

Now that's how you make a commercial for a cause

The Topsy foundation filmed this commercial of Selinah, who has aids and through the administration of anti-retrovirals of 90 days. The transformation is incredible and moving. This is an excellent use of cinematography in order to create an emotional connection with the viewer as well as making an impacting statement that a difference can be made. My hat goes off to the chief creative officer Fran Luckin, executive creative director Gerry Human, creative director Bridget Johnson, copywriter Stephanie van Niekerk, art directors Robyn Bergmann and Vidette Kay, agency producers Lisa Wides and Debbie Dannheisser, advertiser’s supervisor Sylvia de Jager, account manager Patience Jolingana, account supervisor Louise Johnston for creating this ad.

How I am going to develop a photographic memory by the end of finals

Over the next few weeks I will be seeing if this method works with my fellow class mate Levi. Let's see how we do... I don't know how optimistic I am.

Instructions

    • This system will take 1 month for you to develop, you must take 15 minutes every day and dedicate it to this training. For the first month, your eyes will take about 5 minutes time to adjust to daylight reading.

  • 1
Find a dark room in your house, free of distractions for 15 minutes. I use the bathroom. The room must have a bright lamp or ceiling lamp.

  • 2
Sit down next to the light switch with your book and paper that has a rectangular hole cut out of it the size of a paragraph.

  • 3
Cover the page, exposing only one paragraph and hold the book out in front of you. Close your eyes and open, adjust distance so that your eyes focus instantly with ease on the writing.

  • 4
Turn off light. You will see an after glow as your eyes adjust to the dark. Flip light on for a split second and then off again.

  • 5
You will have a visual imprint in your eyes of the material that was in front of you. When this imprint fades, flip the light on again for a split second, again staring at the material.

  • 6
Repeat this process until you can recall every word in the paragraph in order. You will be able to actually see the paragraph and read it from the imprint in your mind.

Funny if you are in the right state of mind

Another great one from Quiznos. This time they have crudely animated rodents singing for them inorder to entice us to go and purchase a Quiznos sub. This ad campaigns' success lies with whether there are enough stoners watching and laughing to then go out and get a Quiznos sub before they decide to take the easy way out and microwave something or fall asleep.

    A little too far...

This advertising campaign probably didn't work out too well. The idea of someone sticking their penis in an oven doesn't get my taste buds going.
This shock and awe method of of advertising inflicted more of a shock and cringe effect on me. But that could have to do with the fact that I am a guy. Ladies out there, does this ad make you want Quiznos?

    Oh Yes but Oh noooo

Carl's Jr. tried to get the attention of their male audience with this one.
I have to hand it to them, they won my business from wendy (see below) if there was a Carl's Jr. in Montana.

This election season, Get the whole picture before jumping to conclusions!

This commercial is perfect with the political season upon us in 2012. Too often are people caught up in conclusions based on their limited knowledge of a situation. When picking a President voters should keep this commercial in mind. GET THE WHOLE PICTURE before drawing conclusions and spreading half truth propaganda to people you come in contact with whether by ignorance or ulterior motive. I am looking at you Fox News pundits.

    Attention grabber

In Australia a group called Stop Child Abuse Now used mannequins to illustrate neglected children. This is similar to a group in the US that used paintings on streets of little girls running across the road in order to raise awareness of children playing in the area.
    Stop Child Abuse Now's ad:
     Girl running across the Street:
The flaw I see with the Canadian group's message about driving safe when kids are playing in the area is  that when constantly presented with a realistic warning the driver will stop reacting to the warning over time because they become accustomed to it. Problem being... what if it isn't a fake warning but in fact a real little girl??? That will make the Canadians rethink their safety marketing strategy..

    Foldgers gorilla marketing

Foldgers turned a seemingly useless advertising location into something innovative and creative. This gorilla marketing technique has led people to repost photos of it all around the web. All of this viral marketing came at no cost to them. Thats a sewer for all of those people who have not been to a city and seen them during the winter. The ad states around the cup of coffee "Hey, City that never sleeps. Wake up!"

    Breaking through the noise

GreenGraffiti company owner power washes in designs for companies as a new way to advertise and break through the noise of an often over saturated advertising market. Now if you want to try and avoid advertisements you need to walk down the street with your eyes closed.
